Scotland should be on everyone's bucket list of places to visit.  From the Isle of Sky to the Highlands and everywhere in between you will find stunning beauty and wonderful people.  This beautiful country is bursting with green spaces, lush forests, towering mountains and vast lochs (the Scottish word for lakes!)

Like New Yorkers, Scottish folk can seem unapproachable, but once they get to know you they'll give you the shirt off their backs if need be.    They are very friendly and enthusiastic, and can spin a good yarn.  Stern and dependable, Scots are as resilient as their native tree - the Pine.

Though some people have joked that you can find a Castle in your bloody way every time you round a bend, there are many castles which are not featured in this booklet as we simply did not have the time to visit them all.  Nor did we get to see Nelly!
